Just prior to rejoining the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Rob Brown served for two years as the Chief Regional Coordinator for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, overseeing emergency management and homeland security in Northern Virginia and the National Capital Region (Washington, DC) for the Virginia Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security.

Lane Wintermute served as a Fire Chief in Oregon and Washington State and has a wealth of experience in both large and small fire departments and is knowledgeable about fire and emergency medical services planning and cooperative service delivery subjects.

Bill has served as Executive Director of the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) since 1995. In his capacity as Executive Director, Bill works closely with members of Congress and fire service leaders on developing federal legislation and enhancing federal programs designed to improve the readiness of our nation’s fire and emergency services.

Norvin Collins was selected as Sauvie Island Fire District's first paid Fire Chief in 2011. Sauvie Island Fire District is a combination department with 40 members including combat, support, and cadet members, serving approximately 36 square miles of predominately rural and Oregon State land including 4 public beaches with 1,600 full-time residents and over 1.5 million annual visitors.
